Niykee, who has had many a hectic few years which included being chosen by Snoop to sing with Snoop at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee has a regular songwriting routine even though she has been a bit busy. She is now a magnet for aspiring producers, she regularly combs through beats that are sent to her and realizes that most are able to spark song ideas. In just 5 seconds that I can determine the beat's worth it. After that, I get the idea of a complete song within my head, and then I begin to compose. My guitar sits on the back porch and I just let my words flow. Most of the time, it's done in less than thirty minutes. Niykee continues to develop her abilities as a poet and lyrics writer. She says that the trauma she endured in the past has served as an infinite source of unusual ideas. It's difficult to escape memories that are painful from my childhood, and especially the loss of my sister. They end up being incorporated in her music. This shapes my music and gives it a deeper meaning, which I find very important. I'd like to be able listen to my songs in 20 years and be proud of the things I've written.
