Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was born in Epsom, Surrey, the daughter of Josephine an engineer, and John Ormond, a stockbroker. She is the third of five children to her parents. The first time she performed in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted attention. She then attended Cranleigh School and Guildford High School. After a short time in art school, she was went to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. She graduated in 1988. Ormond made her debut appearance on British television's 1989 series Traffik. It focused on illicit heroin trade between far East as well as the streets of Europe. Ormond played the heroin dependent daughter of the leading character and was also a Home Office minister working to combat the importation of heroin. This was Ormond's first role and was received with acclaim.
